Accreditation
If the sole purpose of needing an education is for the Gospel ministry or related field within Christian ministry, secular accreditation is not necessary or required. All Christian churches accept quality Christian education regardless of which accreditation group the referenced institution belongs. If the study is for a purpose other than ministry, such as business administrator, engineer, lawyer, etc., students should apply to an institution that belongs to a regional accrediting association. In secular education, regional accreditation is essential. For the education of those in Christian service, secular accreditation does little more than typically make the tuition beyond the reach of most ministers.
Land of Goshen Institute of Theology is a proud member and independent subsidiary of the Southeastern Global Accrediting Commission. While this accrediting association is not formally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, it holds significant value in the Christian education community. We have chosen not to be affiliated with any state or federal government agency, operating legally as an exempt educational institution both within and outside the state of North Carolina.
Degree programs of study offered by Land of Goshen Institute of Theology have been declared by the appropriate state authority exempt from the requirements for licensure under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) 116-15 (d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.
